A YEAR OF PRAYER

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AND PRAYER
The parish theme for the new liturgical year is “Prayer". On the first Tuesday of each month, the Church will be open for prayer and adoration from 10:00am – 7:00pm. (Adoration is not exposition or benediction; it is simply adoratory prayer before the Blessed Sacrament contained in the tabernacle, and it is powerful.) Come pray for the parish and for all parishioners; pray for peace; pray for an increase in priestly and religious vocations. We are asking a commitment of one hour per month.
FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS AT I.C.
Join us each first Saturday at 8:15am for Mass, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary, seasonal litany, and Benediction each First Saturday of every month beginning at 8:15 a.m. in Church. Mass, Exposition, Rosary, Seasonal Litany, and Benediction are currently celebrated Mondays through Fridays beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Chapel, any time there is not a school mass.
VOCATION VIEWS
God’s commandments lead us on the path to life.  What path will you choose to walk?  Pray for wisdom.  (Exodus 20:1-17)
WELCOME TO OUR NEW ORGANIST
By God’s providence our new organist is Terry V. Wenninger, formerly of St. Luke’s Parish in Beavercreek.  Terry brings with her a wealth of experience as a music director, organist, vocalist, educator, and liturgist.  Please welcome Terry…and best wishes to Guy Vanasse.
ARCHDIOCESAN ANNUAL FUND
The Season of Lent has always been a time for the Church to give alms.  Your support of the Archdiocesan Annual Fund is one way for you to participate in the important action in the Lenten Season.  Please be as generous as can in order to help us reach both the parish goal of $20,000, and our wider Archdiocesan needs.  Every gift helps, and no gift is too small.  We ask that everyone in our parish participate with a gift of any amount.

H.O.P.E. LENTEN PROJECT

Dakota.  In addition to providing the Indian School  with $2200 for new computers, we will give an additional $300 to the Sioux Spiritual Center to assist Sioux Lakota Indians who can’t afford the stipend for leadership retreats at the Center.  You can make your donation through the envelopes that are in the pews; please return your donation no later than Easter Sunday.  Thanks for your help!

PARTNERING NEWS: Ascension, IC, and St. Helen’s

School News

STUDENT COUNCIL
The ICS Student Council is undertaking their biggest project yet: they have put together a team to be part of the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” on May 20-21 at Delco Park in Kettering.  This annual event is dedicated to cancer survivors, in the hope of someday finding a cure for cancer.  This year’s entire Relay is being dedicated to the memory of Lynn McGarry, who died in October after a long battle with cancer.  Lynn was a dedicated wife and mother, IC parishioner, Girl Scout leader, PTA officer, school volunteer, and passionate fund-raiser for cancer research; her children Maggie and Eddie are students at ICS.
We have set the goal of raising $2000 for Relay for Life, and we hope you will help us reach it!  Our first event was the annual “Green for Green” St. Patrick’s Day celebration held last Friday: students could purchase a “Green for Green Buck” for $1, and then be out of uniform (as long as they wore green) for St. Pat’s Day.  We’ll keep you updated on the progress towards our goal! Student Council members will speak after Mass on Mar. 25 and 26, and will take donations in the vestibule for this extremely worth goal.

OPEN HOUSE
Join us for the ICS Open House on Sunday, March 26, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.  Check out the classrooms, meet the teachers, and visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the Library!

CINDERELLA
Come see ICS alums as they star in the Carroll High School production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella”, March 24-26 in the school auditorium.  Our very own Rachel Niemer is Cinderella, Billy Kochmar is the Singing Herald, and Michelle Fink is a Student Director.  You can purchase tickets at the door for $8 for adults and $5 for students/senior citizens.  Be sure not to miss this fine presentation in the tradition of Carroll Theatre!  For more information call the CHS School Office at 253-8188.

MARKET DAY
Market Day has a special on pies this month, and the PTA receives $1.75 for every pie ordered.  There are order sheets in all the vestibules, so take time to support this easy and delectable fundraiser.  Pick up date is April 5, from 2:30pm – 3:30pm in the school cafeteria.  If you have any questions, call Connie Johnson at 258-8315

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
The collection boxes are in the classroom, and the students are emptying their piggy banks!  This important service project benefits the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, and our goal this year is $2000.  Students (and their families!) are encouraged to donate their pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, dollars…we’ll also accept checks!  If your business would like to sell “Penny Head Papers” for $1 each, or you would like to place a collection box in a business, please call Ginger Dahm at 258-8189.

PARISH REGISTRATION/CHANGE OF ADDRESS
Visitors and Friends: Welcome to Immaculate Conception Church! The only sure way to become a registered member of the parish family is to fill out a registration form (below) or a pew card; drop either in the collection basket, or return it to the rectory office. There is no automatic registration if you attend mass regularly, or even if your children attend Immaculate Conception School or Immaculate Conception Religious Education Classes. If you have any questions please call the Rectory at 252-9919.
