In Luke 11:9, Jesus says to us, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.” We encourage you to call the Prayer Chain anytime you, a friend, neighbor, or relative is in need of prayer. We have a team of 13 people who pray daily for all the requests we receive, and we invite you to join this ministry. Call Mary Bochenek at 256-4737 to submit a prayer request or to join the team.

TAX STATEMENTS
Due to recent changes in tax laws, beginning with contributions made in 2007, parishioners (who itemize their tax returns) will no longer be able to deduct contributions to the parish unless they maintain a bank record or written contribution statement from the parish. If you wish to ensure deductibility of your contributions, please use a check or your parish envelope. The parish will track contributions made using parish envelopes, and will, upon request, produce a written statement of contributions made during 2007. Cancelled checks and other bank records are also sufficient documentation. The parish cannot track cash contributions not in parish tithe envelopes. If you do not have tithe envelopes, call the office at 252-9919, and we will get them ready for you.

WORD OF LIFE
When leading experts who favor emergency contraceptive (EC) programs recently summarized 23 studies gauging the effect of such programs, they had to admit that not one of the 23 found a reduction in unintended pregnancies of abortions. Richard M. Doerflinger, “The Prevention Deception: How Not to Reduce Abortions,” Respect Life Program 2007.
