EVENSONG
Parishioners who have lost a loved one since November 1, 2006, who have not been buried from Immaculate Conception, but would like to be included in the Vespers service November 2, please contact the rectory at 252-9919 and give name of deceased, date of death, and the family member’s information. All other parishioners who have buried family or loved ones from Immaculate Conception are included in the memorial Vespers service. Please arrive before 7:00pm on Friday, November 2 in the church.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY
Today, World Mission Sunday, with Catholics of the world, we are called to offer, at this Eucharistic celebration, our prayers and our generous financial support, through the Propagation of the Faith, to continue the mission of our Lord – to help the poor and suffering experience the healing love and peace of Jesus.

OUTREACH EVENTS
The cold and flu season is fast upon us and the Senior Resource Connection Visiting Home Care is offering flu shots at Immaculate Conception in MSH on Tuesday, October 23 from 9:00am to 11:00am. No reservations necessary, but you do need to sign up to register in the main vestibule after this weekend’s masses. Medicare Part B pays for the flu shot. Please make sure you bring your Medicare card. Those having Medicare Complete, Medicare Advantage, Care Source and all other insurance will pay $28.00. All cash payors will be issued a receipt to be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. We look forward to providing you with this very important preventative measure. ST. VINCENT HOTEL SEPTEMBER MEAL
St. Vincent hotel received $204.00 in cash donations that was used to purchase 6 lasagna casseroles costing $48.94, leaving a balance of $155 that will be used for future purchases as needed. St. Vincent also received donations of 19 casseroles and 24 canned goods. Please remember the hotel by making a casserole or buying a canned vegetable or fruit. The next sign-ups will be on October 27-28 in the main vestibule. Thank you for your support and keep up the good work.
FALL RUMMAGE SALE
The annual Fall Rummage Sale will be on Saturday, November 10 from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Donations will be taken in on Wednesday, November 7 through Friday, November 10 from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Please bring items down the ramp behind the church into the basement. All appliances must be in working order, no soiled or torn furniture, typewriters, and computers. St. Vincent will take them if they are not sold, unless they are damaged or not in working order. Any questions, please call Patty at 253-2477.
BAKE AND CRAFT SALE
The annual Bake and Craft Sale will also be on Saturday, November 10 in the choir room. Donations will be taken on Friday, November 9 from noon to 6:00pm. Please bring all cakes, pies, candy, cookies, cupcakes or any other delicious items and Christmas crafts to the choir room. All parishioners are invited to bring items and to shop!! PRAYER CHAIN
In Luke 11:9, Jesus says to us, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.” We encourage you to call the Prayer Chain anytime you, a friend, neighbor, or relative is in need of prayer. We have a team of 13 people who pray daily for all the requests we receive, and we invite you to join this ministry. Call Mary Bochenek at 256-4737 to submit a prayer request or to join the team.
TAX STATEMENTS
Due to recent changes in tax laws, beginning with contributions made in 2007, parishioners (who itemize their tax returns) will no longer be able to deduct contributions to the parish unless they maintain a bank record or written contribution statement from the parish. If you wish to ensure deductibility of your contributions, please use a check or your parish envelope. The parish will track contributions made using parish envelopes, and will, upon request, produce a written statement of contributions made during 2007. Cancelled checks and other bank records are also sufficient documentation. The parish cannot track cash contributions not in parish tithe envelopes. If you do not have tithe envelopes, call the office at 252-9919, and we will get them ready for you.

Our next project is replacing the church sound system including the baffles. The preliminary estimates are between $140,000.00--$160,000.00. Phase one of this project will be the removal of the old baffles; includes brickwork and installation of the new baffles. Phase two will be the removal of the old sound system, new wiring and installation of the new equipment. Please continue your generosity.

EDUCATION FUND UPDATE
The Education Fund matching grant program has been renewed. For every two dollars donated to the Education Fund, a generous donor will match it with one dollar. Thank you for your support and generosity extended to the Education Fund. The monies currently being collected will allow IC to have tuition aid available for our qualifying families in the future. We begin new with the fiscal year for the following year.

PATRIOT WRESTLING CLUB
This is the 26th year wrestling teams will be available for boys in grades K-8. Boys wrestle other boys the same age and size. The sign-up meeting is Thursday, October 25 at Carroll High School at 6:30am. Practice starts November 3 for grades K-6 and November 12 for the Junior High team.
OUT OF PARISH
HEBREW AND CHRISTIAN SCRIPTURE
Participants in this class will gain a basic understanding of contemporary Catholic biblical criticism and also an understanding of the major themes of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. Joan Dunn will be facilitating these classes on October 16, 23, 30, and November 6 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at St. Christopher Parish, 435 E. National Road, Vandalia. Cost is $30. HUGE GARAGE SALE
Twin Towers Place is holding a huge garage sale and lunch stand on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28 from 9:00am-4:00pm inside McBride Hall at 250 Allen St. The Seniors and their families residing in the low to moderate income independent apartment complex for senior citizens have donated items and food for the sale to make money for their Activity Fund. The fund is used for parties, outings, decorations, helping residents, and in house activities.
HOMELESSNESS
John Carr from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will be at Incarnation Parish on Monday, October 22 to discuss the efforts and priorities of the bishops around social justice, as well as provide insight into the work of parish social ministry.
BLACK CATHOLIC HISTORY
The Father Joseph M. Davis, S.M. Black Catholic History Month Celebration presents, “The Roots of Our Recovery: The Antebellum Origins of Black Catholic Female Activism and Religious Agency in the City of New Orleans”. Presentation is on Tuesday, October 23 at 7:30pm at the University of Dayton’s Sear Recital Hall inside the Humanities Building.
SISTERS OF THE PRECIOUS BLOOD RETREAT
