FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS AT I.C. Join us at 8:15am for Mass, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary, seasonal litany, and Benediction each First Saturday of every month. Mass, Exposition, Rosary, Seasonal Litany, and Benediction are currently celebrated Mondays through Fridays beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Chapel.

HOSPITAL CALLS AND VISITATION:
Please notify the Rectory if a family member is in the hospital or at home with a severe or prolonged illness. In accord with current privacy policies, hospitals do not inform us of parishioners entering the hospital; they call only at the patient’s request.

Our condolences to the families of Herman Boehmer, Ed Cain, Ray Flohre, Helen Gott, Eileen McFadden, Mildred Mercer, and Marc Thibault, who all died recently. May light perpetual shine upon them and bring consolation to their families.

MAY CROWNING
At 1:30pm on Tuesday, May 1, the ICS students invite you to join them for the May Crowning service in the Church. You are welcome to bring flowers as we honor Mary at this special prayer service.

FIRST COMMUNION
Our second graders will celebrate their First Communion next Sunday, May 6, at the 11am mass. We hope you will join us as our parish community celebrates this event with our children.

ITE MISSA EST
On May 9, the IC Adult Faith Formation will present “Why I Became Catholic: the personal testimonies of former Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, and non-believers” at 7pm in MSH. For daily reflections and homilies, check itemissaest.org.

The photography dates for our pictorial directory are coming up. If you have not reserved a time to be photographed, be sure to do so today while there is still a good selection of appointments. We are scheduling in the main vestibule after mass; our goal is 100% participation—it just won’t be complete without you!

EDUCATION FUND UPDATE
The Education Fund currently has a matching grant program. For every two dollars donated to the Education Fund, a generous donor will match it with one dollar. Thank you for your support and generosity extended to the Education Fund. The monies currently being collected will allow IC to continue to have tuition aid available for our qualifying families in the future.

IC DAYCARE…
…will offer preschool for ages three and four beginning in the 2007-08 school year. We also offer full daycare for ages three through Kindergarten, as well as an after school program. For information call 253-0201.

OUT OF PARISH

DARFUR AWARENESS NIGHT
Ohioans of all ages, races, cultures, and faiths are invited to join together at Fountain Square in Cincinnati for a gripping presentation about the conditions in Darfur, where almost 400,000 people have died in the past three years. Our focus is what we, as individuals, can do to help. Join us on Tuesday, May 1; we will gather at 6:00pm, the event begins at 6:30pm, and we will walk to the Freedom Center at 7:30pm. LIFE LINE SCREENINGS
Life Line Screenings will be at Dayton Heart Hospital on May 15 from 9am –4pm. They will use ultrasound to screen for the risks of stroke, vascular disease, and osteoporosis – four screenings for $129. To schedule, or for more information, call 1-800-779-6353. DAYTON CATHOLIC WOMEN’S CLUB
The DCWC will hold its Annual Spring Luncheon on Saturday, May 19 at the Dayton Women’s Club, 225 N. Ludlow St. There will be a social hour beginning at 11:00am, with lunch at 12:00pm. The guest speaker is Dr. Zama Ndefru III, PhD., presenting “Nursing Training in Africa”. Tickets are $25; for information call Betty Chadwell at 256-9516.

UD NEW HORIZONS BAND
This UD band, now in its sixth year, offers senior adults opportunities to begin a musical instrument, or a “re-entry” point for those who have been away from active music making for many years. We teach flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, tuba, and percussion. Lessons are taught in like-instrument groups weekly for 30 minutes. The summer program begins May 10; if you have questions, please call the UD Special Programs and Continuing Education Office at 229-2347.

PEACE BRIDGE
You can help plan the 2007 Peace Bridge event, to be held on Sunday, May 20. Get involved at one of the meetings: Apr. 23 at 7pm, May 1 at 7pm, May 6 at 4pm, May 15 at 6pm—all held at the Greater Dayton Christian Connections at 601 W. Riverview.

ATTENTION KNOLLWOOD SHOPPERS
The CHS Band is selling Knollwood gift cards for $20 each, good for $20 worth of any merchandise at Knollwood. The CHS Music Department will receive $4 for each card sold; this also supports the band program at the feeder schools (which includes ICS). PARISH REGISTRATION/CHANGE OF ADDRESS
Visitors and Friends: Welcome to Immaculate Conception Church! The only sure way to become a registered member of the parish family is to fill out a registration form (below) or a pew card; drop either in the collection basket, or return it to the rectory office. There is no automatic registration if you attend mass regularly, or even if your children attend Immaculate Conception School or Immaculate Conception Religious Education Classes. If you have any questions please call the Rectory at 252-9919.
