ROSARY ALTAR
February ’08 – A time for Valentine’s Day, for the holy season of Lent, AND for the February 19 Rosary Altar meeting! What an event is planned! First – Be there at MSH at 12:00pm sharp because Marion’s Pizza will await you. After appetites have been totally appeased, the meeting will take place. There is much to discuss, plot and plan – input and labor needed (World Day of Prayer, Rummage Sale, Bake Sale & Soup Kitchen). Come, get involved, help! Please remember to bring chocolate items for the basket we need to make and donate to the Fish Fry (February 23). No desserts are needed this month – so bring only yourself and nickels for the always exciting Cube Game and chocolate pieces for the chocolate basket. Remember all are welcome in this happy group. See you there!
PREP STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN OPERATION RICE BOWL
During the time of Lent, all of the PREP students will be participating in Operation Rice Bowl. This is a program sponsored by Catholic Relief Services, whereby the students will find solidarity with people in need around the world. Each student will be called to PRAY, FAST, LEARN AND GIVE. We will be studying about other cultures and find out how our financial support helps them to overcome great obstacles. Check out our bulletin board in the basement to find out more about this program.
DISCIPLESHIP RETREAT II
Our Lenten Retreat, the second retreat in a series of Discipleship Retreats, “Sermon on the Mount: A Call to Discipleship,” will be on Saturday, February 23, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with lunch included. This retreat will be presented by Fr. Satish Joseph. Registration forms available in the church vestibules. Please complete your pre-registration form and return it with a $10.00 fee per person to the Rectory, or place in collection basket at Mass. This event is sponsored by Ite Missa Est.
ROSARY ALTAR INVITATION
All ladies of the church are invited to join the Rosary Altar Society. This special group meets every third Tuesday of the month for games and friendship. They also supply the wine and Eucharistic hosts for Sunday masses. If interested, please mark an envelope for Rosary Altar Society with your name and phone number with a donation for Rosary Altar and drop it in the collection basket during mass or drop it off at the Rectory.
GUIDEBOOK
Guidebook Publishing is compiling our annual directory and would appreciate your parish sponsorship. Please call the Rectory to speak with Bob about guidebook advertising for your company or business.

Three family sized lasagnas, 12 cans of vegetables, and 4 packages of pans (30 ct) were purchased. Please remember the hotel by making a casserole or buying a canned vegetable or fruit. CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL 2008 CAMPAIGN
Please pledge your support for six of our very important regional church ministries, through the Catholic Ministries Appeal. 100% of your contribution goes to Catholic Social Services, campus ministries, lay and ordained ministries education, St. Rita School for the Deaf, support of our retired priests, and chaplains for our hospitals and prisons. Our parish goal this year is $__________.
Please visit www.catholicappeal.info for more information, and to make your pledge today. Thank you.
WELCOME VISITORS!
We are glad you are visiting us. For your information:
1) Restrooms are available on the lower level.
2) Hearing aides are available from the ushers.
3) Please let our parishioners near you know that you are a visitor so that they may welcome you and answer any questions that you may have.
PRAYER CHAIN
In Luke 11:9, Jesus says to us, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.” We encourage you to call the Prayer Chain anytime you, a friend, neighbor, or relative is in need of prayer. We have a team of 13 people who pray daily for all the requests we receive, and we invite you to join this ministry. Call Mary Bochenek at 256-4737 to submit a prayer request or to join the team.
TAX STATEMENTS
Due to recent changes in tax laws, beginning with contributions made in 2007, parishioners (who itemize their tax returns) will no longer be able to deduct contributions to the parish unless they maintain a bank record or written contribution statement from the parish. If you wish to ensure deductibility of your contributions, please use a check or your parish envelope. The parish will track contributions made using parish envelopes, and will, upon request, produce a written statement of contributions made during 2007. Cancelled checks and other bank records are also sufficient documentation. The parish cannot track cash contributions not in parish tithe envelopes. If you do not have tithe envelopes, call the office at 252-9919, and we will get them ready for you.
