GIFTS OF TIME/TALENT NEEDED

  • The 5:00pm Mass is in need of ushers to meet, greet, and seat parishioners; collect tithe, and assist with the communion count.  If you are interested, please see Andy Rado after Mass.
  • In the event you have a family member or friend who is unable to walk up to the altar for communion, please inform an usher.  In the absence of an usher, please stand next to the person needing communion and a Eucharistic Minister will bring communion to him/her.
  • The 5:00pm and 11:00am masses also need some new lectors.  If you are interested in reading one of the lessons at Mass, please contact Jeanne Schoenharl at 256-5231.

STEWARDSHIP
Last weekend was Stewardship Weekend.  A few thoughts to keep in mind…
Simple things like expressing gratitude seem surprising in this day and age, but we know that even Jesus himself experienced lack of gratitude.  It is difficult to be grateful and unhappy at the same time.  Show your gratitude, give of yourself.
The parents of a young man who was a war casualty gave their church a donation in his name.  Learning of this, another woman said to her husband, “Let’s give a donation for our son.”  The father replied, “Why?  Our boy didn’t lose his life.”  “That’s just the point”, said the mother.  “Let’s give it because he didn’t.”

Total          $ 30,461.00

EDUCATION FUND UPDATE

The Education Fund currently has a matching grant program.  For every two dollars donated to the Education Fund a generous donor will match it with one dollar.  Thank you for your support and generosity to the Education Fund.  The monies currently being collected will allow IC to continue to have tuition aid available for our qualifying families in the future.

August        $  1,289.00
Total:        $ 21,267.00

ALTAR FLOWERS
If you would like to commemorate a special event or person with altar flowers, please contact Katherine at the Rectory at 252-9919.

LEAVING A LEGACY

Leaving a legacy gift is about the future – how you can change it, mold it, or inspire it.  Our parish will continue to grow in different ways even as we change demographically.  Our needs will arise from the new challenges. To sustain and enhance our ministry you can support specific parish projects, activities, or needs by leaving a Legacy Gift.  Among the many ways you can help the parish: leave a gift in your will to the parish; give a cash donation; remember deceased loved ones with a memorial gift; contribute to the Endowment Fund; name IC as the beneficiary of your IRA, pension plan, or life insurance policy; or give a gift of property or securities.  Thank you for your generous support in the past, and help us move securely into the future.

School News

For information, or to purchase a book, call Betty Mueller at 253-7275.
