SUMMER HOURS

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS

CONTINUED RESTORATION FUND UPDATE
Our next project is replacing the church sound system including the baffles. The preliminary estimates are between $140,000.00--$160,000.00. Phase one of this project will be the removal of the old baffles; includes brickwork and installation of the new baffles. Phase two will be the removal of the old sound system, new wiring and installation of the new equipment. Please continue your generosity.

EDUCATION FUND UPDATE
The Education Fund currently has a matching grant program. For every two dollars donated to the Education Fund, a generous donor will match it with one dollar. Thank you for your support and generosity extended to the Education Fund. The monies currently being collected will allow IC to continue to have tuition aid available for our qualifying families in the future.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Mary Help of Christians will create a Jerusalem Market Place for their VBS, July 23-26 from 6pm –8:30pm. You’ll explore the bustling marketplace as it was in Jesus’ time, eat traditional treats, make authentic projects, and discover what it was like to live when Jesus did. FATIMA USA
The Maria Stein Spiritual Center will be transformed into Fatima, Portugal to honor the Mother of God on Friday, Aug. 10 at 7:30pm. Individuals from over 30 parishes will gather for a concelebrated Mass with Rev. Tony Fortman; there will be a lighted Rosary and procession around the grounds, and a statue of Our Lady of Fatima shipped from Portugal will be used for this celebration. The Marianist Mission in Dayton houses the Marianist Spiritual Alliance, a prayer ministry and advocate of Marianist missionary work. SUMMER HOURS
Until Aug. 24, the Rectory Office will be open 8:00am – 12:00pm Monday through Friday, and by appointment. The School Office will resume hours on Aug. 1.

ADULT SERVERS NEEDED
We are asking for adult servers to help at the altar for all three weekend masses. There could be a combination of parent and children, husband and wife, parents and grandparents, or simply single adults who would like to serve for mass. Orientation and training will occur after all masses on July 14/15, and July 21/22. Please consider volunteering in the Lord’s Service. Children must be 10 years or older.

ST. VINCENT
Thanks to our generous parishioners who donated 22 casseroles, 22 cans of fruits/vegetables, and $50.50 in cash, with which we purchased 150 steam pans. Thanks for helping our less fortunate neighbors at St. Vincent’s Hotel.

INDEPENDENCE DAY MASS
Thanks to everyone involved in celebrating July 4th at our Independence Day mass. Almost 300 parishioners from Ascension, Immaculate Conception, and St. Helen’s began their holiday celebrations with mass, followed by fellowship in the main vestibule, sponsored by the Rosary Altar.

We are happy to announce the 2007 Festival T-shirt design winners:

RIVER
River is a vibrant community that nurtures faith development among single adults through service, spiritual, and social activities. River will host a singles retreat on July 21-22 at the Moye Spiritual Life Center in Melbourne, KY. Focusing on issues relating to singles today, the retreat is open to those age 21 and over; the cost is $85 per person. HEALER TO SPEAK
Alan Ames, an Australian evangelist with a mystical prayer life and the gift of miraculous healing powers, returns to Dayton July 26 and 27 for speaking engagements and healing services. Aligned with the teachings of the Catholic Church, he has spoken at such events as the World Youth Conference with Pope John Paul II. Traveling the world since 1993, he is an internationally recognized evangelist and healer, delivering the message of Christ’s love to audiences numbering in the tens of thousands. On Thursday, July 26, mass will be celebrated at Precious Blood Catholic Church at 7pm, followed by Mr. Ames’ talk and healing service (call 276-5954 for more information). On Friday, Mass will be at 7pm at Our Lady of Good Hope, followed by the talk and healing service (call 866-1432 for more information).
