A YEAR OF PRAYER

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AND PRAYER
The parish theme for the new liturgical year is “Prayer". On the first Tuesday of each month, the Church will be open for prayer and adoration from 10:00am – 7:00pm. (Adoration is not exposition or benediction; it is simply adoratory prayer before the Blessed Sacrament contained in the tabernacle, and it is powerful.) Come pray for the parish and for all parishioners; pray for peace; pray for an increase in priestly and religious vocations. We are asking a commitment of one hour per month.

FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS AT I.C.

Join us each first Saturday at 8:15am for Mass, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary, seasonal litany, and Benediction each First Saturday of every month beginning at 8:15 a.m. in Church. Mass, Exposition, Rosary, Seasonal Litany, and Benediction are currently celebrated Mondays through Fridays beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Chapel, any time there is not a school mass.

Regional News

A wonderful Memorial Day mass was celebrated on May 29 at St. Helen’s Church.  Many veterans were present, as well as the families of deployed and current service personnel.  Fr. Dave Brinkmoeller was the celebrant; Fr. Chris Worland blessed the military parties; and at the flagpole, Fr. Anthony Geraci led prayers for the deceased.  This was an excellent example of “partnering in action.”

VOCATION VIEWS

Jesus sends us the gift of peace and the Spirit to renew the earth.  Use the gifts He’s given you.  Let the Holy Spirit fill you and use you!  (John 20:19-23)

FREE SPIRITS

On Aug. 3, the Free Spirits are going to Boggstown IN for a Cabaret Show.  If you haven’t signed up, and would like to, or to get more information, call Gerry Albers at 252-9852.

MARTHAS
The Marthas are a group of parishioners who provide a post-funeral dinner for the family of a deceased parishioner.  The dinner is served in MSH with the Rosary Altar members providing hospitality, beverages, paper products, and table service.  The Marthas supply the food, and we need your help in providing hot casseroles, desserts, and side dishes/salads.  If you can help, please call Barbi Byrd at 256-0625.

RCIA/ADULT EDUCATION
Join us for the newly redesigned RCIA/Adult Education program in the Madonna Library.  Fr. Tony will lead RCIA and discussion of Faith, Scripture, and Church from 9:00am – 9:40am. Jason Wheatley, IC parishioner and Licensed Independent Social Worker, in private practice at Professional Psychology and Consultation, Inc., will lead classes from 9:45am –10:40am.  Bring a notebook and your enthusiasm for topics ranging from the Catholic faith to basic communication skills to health and wellness.

OUTREACH
When was the last time you wondered where your next meal was coming from?  Our St. Vincent DePaul food pantry hears daily from our neighbors who are in need of food for their families.  To help keep our shelves stocked, we have placed a barrel in the main vestibule for you to drop your food and other non-perishable donations.  We appreciate all you can give…but please, we CANNOT accept items that are past their expiration dates!

CAMPBELL’S LABELS UPDATE
Thank you!  Our parishioners have donated over 15,000 labels during this school year!  Yes, you read that right:  15,000 labels given to benefit our school.  The teachers were able to order as art supplies, videos on insects and animals for the primary grades, electric staplers and pencil sharpeners, and gym balls.  Keep clipping those labels, and you can drop them in the boxes in the south and main vestibules.

REGISTRATIONS
…are now being taken for the Daycare Summer Program and the Preschool Fall Registrations.  Contact Bill Wagner at 253-0201, or download the information from www.ics.cnd.pvt.k12.oh.us.
