PARISH NEWS

FAREWELL DINNER FOR FR. TONY

On Saturday, June 28 after the 5:00pm Mass the Parish Council invites you to join together for a Spaghetti Dinner in MSH.  We hope you will join us in wishing Fr. Tony our best in his new appointment.  No cost; however, donations will be gladly accepted.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Children’s Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated during the second and fourth Sundays of the month during the 11:00am Mass and every Sunday during the 6:00pm Mass.  Children who are 5-10 years old are invited to participate in this activity.  This ministry proclaims the scripture to the children using the Children’s Lectionary.  The readings are similar to those read in Mass, but are expressed in simpler form to allow the children a better understanding.  The children have the opportunity to reflect on these readings and how they pertain to their lives.  Please pray for this ministry and the children.  We look forward to your child’s participation.  If you would like to volunteer to help with this program, please contact the rectory at 252-9919.

ITE MISSA EST UPCOMING EVENTS

Ite Missa Est will present “The Book of Genesis (Part III)… The Road to Egypt” with speakers Dr. Jeff Morrow and Fr. Satish Joseph on June 11.  This Adult Faith Formation program meets on the second Wednesday of each month September through June and is open to all adults seeking to enhance their faith while developing a deeper understanding of what it means to live as a Christian in today’s world.  We meet in MSH (church lower level) at 7:00pm.  Snacks are provided.  IME invites you to join us and please bring a friend.  Please check out our website, itemissaest.org for daily reflections, Sunday homilies and more!

PRAYER CHAIN

In Luke 11:9, Jesus says to us, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.”  We encourage you to call the Prayer Chain anytime you, a friend, neighbor, or relative is in need of prayer.  We have a team of 13 people who pray daily for all the requests we receive, and we invite you to join this ministry.  Call Mary Bochenek at 256-4737 to submit a prayer request or to join the team.
