STEWARDSHIP
Twenty thousand for my brand new car,
Twenty thousand for my piece of sod.
Fifty thousand I paid to begin a house
A dollar I gave to God.
Yet there is one big question
For the answer I still search:
With things so bad in this old world,
What’s holding back my church?

LEAVING A LEGACY

Immaculate Conception Parish has thrived as a community of faith since 1938.  We thank God for the many women, men, priests and religious who have left legacies for our Catholic school, churches, education, spiritual and social services.  Now it is our turn, and we pray that we will be as generous as our forbearers in our service and ministry to future Catholics.  The idea of generational planning and giving has always been essential to the life and success of the Church and its members.  Please give a gift that keeps on giving.

STEWARDSHIP
Last weekend was Stewardship Weekend.  A few thoughts to keep in mind…
Simple things like expressing gratitude seem surprising in this day and age, but we know that even Jesus himself experienced lack of gratitude.  It is difficult to be grateful and unhappy at the same time.  Show your gratitude, give of yourself.
The parents of a young man who was a war casualty gave their church a donation in his name.  Learning of this, another woman said to her husband, “Let’s give a donation for our son.”  The father replied, “Why?  Our boy didn’t lose his life.”  “That’s just the point”, said the mother.  “Let’s give it because he didn’t.”

LEAVING A LEGACY

Leaving a legacy gift is about the future – how you can change it, mold it, or inspire it.  Our parish will continue to grow in different ways even as we change demographically.  Our needs will arise from the new challenges. To sustain and enhance our ministry you can support specific parish projects, activities, or needs by leaving a Legacy Gift.  Among the many ways you can help the parish: leave a gift in your will to the parish; give a cash donation; remember deceased loved ones with a memorial gift; contribute to the Endowment Fund; name IC as the beneficiary of your IRA, pension plan, or life insurance policy; or give a gift of property or securities.  Thank you for your generous support in the past, and help us move securely into the future.
